TEES VALLEY ANGLING CLUB – AGM UPDATE (2026 SEASON CHANGES)

Following our AGM last night, we’d like to thank everyone who attended and contributed. Below is a full breakdown of the updates and changes for the 2026 season:

🎣 Match & Draw Updates

  • The online wheel system draw will now take place on Saturday afternoon/evening.
  • Final confirmation to fish must be made by Friday evening.

πŸ’· Payment Changes

  • There will now be a 30-minute payment window before matches.
    • Example: If fishing starts at 10:15am, payment will be taken between 8:00–8:30am (by Jack or Cal).
  • Payment must be paid before going to your peg, failure to pay will result in you not being weighed in.
  • If you arrive late, please pay after the match to avoid disruption on the bank, but this must be for a reasonable reason, turning up late regularly will not be accepted.

πŸ“± Sections & Payouts

  • League and money sections will be posted in the WhatsApp group on Saturday evening.

πŸ† League & Prizes

  • The league will pay out the top 8 anglers overall.
  • We’re pleased to welcome a new sponsor – Premier Glass and Glazing. Thank you for your support!
  • The Golden Peg will continue for 2026. If won, a fundraiser will be held to keep it going.

βš–οΈ Rules & Equipment

  • A new tripod is required for the club and will be purchased using club funds.
  • New rule: If packing up early, please:
    • Do not throw any unused bait into the pond.
    • Return all fish safely, calmly, and with minimal disturbance to the swim.
    • Ensure your peg is left clean and tidy before leaving.
    • Avoid drawing attention or causing disruption to anglers still fishing nearby.

πŸͺ‘ Fixtures & Venues

  • Where fixtures involve split lakes, the club will help cover venue costs if needed (e.g., 20 anglers booked on a 24-peg venue).
    • This ensures more space and a better match experience for everyone.

πŸŽ‰ Events & Social

  • Presentation Night will be held at Woodlands Lakes (date to be confirmed).
    • Fundraisers will support this event and may also contribute towards future travel (including potential trips back into Thirsk from Woodlands).
  • Summer Cheer at Woodlands will be food and drink only.

πŸ“Š League Format Update

  • The league structure remains the same, with one change:
    • Bonus point awarded for a win has been removed
    • New scoring system: 1–4 points
  • This format will be trialed for the 2026 season.

We’re looking forward to another great year ahead. Tight lines to everyone for the upcoming season! 🎣
