15 anglers turned out for today’s match at Vale Lake, Forest Lane. After yesterday’s constant rain, there were a few nerves about the weather, but apart from a cold and blustery start, the day brightened up into fine sunshine.

Plenty of fish showed all around the lake, with good weights recorded across the board. Small carp made up the bulk of catches, backed up by the odd bonus barbel and chub to keep things interesting.

Top 3:
🥇 1st – Jack Jones with an excellent net of chub tipping the scales at 146lb 11oz
🥈 2nd – Alan Gladders with 94lb 7oz
🥉 3rd – Gaz Wood with 91lb 1oz

Section Winners:

Ian Gladders– 84lb 12oz (edged it by just 3oz, double default section win)

Wazza – 87lb 4oz

Neil Devine – 81lb 7oz (took his section by 7oz)

With today’s results, the league table has tightened right up – now only a single point separates 1st and 2nd place, setting up an exciting run-in.
