Fourteen hardy anglers braved colder weather conditions for the latest match at Hackworth Pool, Eden Grange. Despite the chill, some good weights were recorded across the day, making for a competitive match.
1st Place went to Alan Youngman, fishing from peg 24 in the newly named “Youngman Corner”, who secured the win with an impressive weight of 64lb 14oz. Alan fished hard pellets to the reeds, which proved to be a successful approach in tough conditions.
In 2nd Place, Jonny Richards, fishing from peg 22, put in a solid performance, finishing just shy of the top spot with 59lb 14oz. Jonny used a mix of pellets and maggots to land his haul.
Section Winners:
- Dan Howes took his section from peg 1 by double default with a weight of 52lb 8oz.
- Gaz Wood, fishing from peg 8, narrowly missed out on a podium place but won his section with 59lb 6oz.
- Ian Hutchingson claimed his section win from peg 12 with a weight of 54lb 6oz.
Despite the cold, it was a great day’s fishing with all anglers producing solid results. Well done to everyone who participated!
League Table Update
With just one match left in the league, Jack Jones has already secured the overall title with an unassailable lead, locking in 1st place. However, the battle for 2nd and 3rd remains intense. Two anglers are currently tied on points for the runner-up position, while another sits just two points behind, ready to strike in the final match.
