Match 11 2024 – Forest Lane – Oaklands

Off we went back to the fantastic Forrest Lane. This time taking over Oaklands lake. 24 anglers on the lake another quality turnout for the club.

The rolling draw starting in the cafe through out some interesting draws. Dan Howes and Leauge leader Jack pegged next together. The Fridge and Barry Simpson sitting in the same section, it shaped up for a good match.

All in called. And no doubt Jack Jones had a moan at some point over another fantastic looking Peg. He started on meat on a long edge, something that he wouldn’t look back on, and served him well throughout the match. Neil the seal sat on the feeder to start, paying dividends with a nice early string of fish. Ever consistent Rob Urry fishing well and fishing popping up all over the lake.

As the match progressed, was only one section, everyone’s eyes where on. The Fridge, Barry, Eddie and Ian all going at it fish for fish all eventually finished within 2lb of each other. Neil Devine happy his £1 was safe sunning it up on holiday!!

Match came to a close, Neil the seal coming off his feeder line and dropping short ensured he kept the fish coming, and that long edge line of Jack Jones never let up all day, Gaz Wood going about his business throughout the match stood him in good stead as the scales came round.

Another fantastic turnout, fantastic fishery, and good spread of weights. Shout out to Barry winning a section and not by default either!!
