Match 11 2025 – Redwood Park – Redwood Lake

Written by

16 anglers lined up at Redwood Lake this weekend, where the weather started with a soggy downpour but ended in sunshine and a warm 23°C. Unfortunately, the fishing didn’t improve with the weather.

For the third time this year, we’ve fished Redwood Lake… and for the third time, it’s fished poorly. Only four anglers managed to break the 25lb barrier, with the rest of us left scratching our heads (and weighing in very little).

Top 3:

🥇 1st – Rob Wood: 111lb – Rob makes it four wins on the bounce. Whatever he’s doing, it’s working.
🥈 2nd – Gaz Wood: 64lb 01oz – fishing the next peg along from Rob, maybe some of the magic rubbed off.
🥉 3rd – John Hopton: 49lb – solid performance in tough conditions.

Section Winners:

🎣 Midda – 2lb 14oz – That’s not a typo. Yes, 2lb 14oz was enough to win a section. A new club record for lowest section winning weight, and a quintuple default section win – I even had to Google what “quintuple” meant.
🎣 Rob Urry – 39lb – respectable effort in a tricky area.
🎣 Jack Jones – 22lb 14oz – made it count when it mattered.

📍 Next Match:
We move on to Woodlands Lakes, Thirsk next weekend – fishing the Island Lakes. Fingers crossed for better sport,
