Sixteen anglers headed to Poplars Lake at The Oaks, Sessay, near Thirsk, for the latest round of the summer league.
After a spell of warm weather, anglers were met with cooler conditions and a fresh westerly wind blowing across the venue throughout the day.
When the scales were called around, it was Jonny “The Fridge” Richards who came out on top with an excellent winning weight of 71lb 13oz from fancied peg 2. Jonny put together a strong net of fish to take the victory and, in doing so, brought an end to Ian Hutchinson’s remarkable run of five consecutive match wins.
Ian was once again in the frame, finishing runner-up from peg 5 with 58lb 3oz, continuing his impressive consistency throughout the league.
Third place went to Ian Gladders, who weighed 46lb, securing another valuable points haul.
