A solid turnout of 20 anglers made the trip to Tollerton Fishery near York for this latest match, with Kingfisher and Coot Lakes hosting the day’s action. It was a chilly start, with a few early-morning reports of anglers having to de-ice their cars before setting off a clear reminder that we’re not quite done with the colder weather yet. Despite that, spirits were high on the bank, and conditions improved as the day went on.
On Kingfisher Lake, it was a tight contest at the top, with some quality weights coming to the scales. Jack Jones took top spot with an impressive 74lb 12oz, closely followed by Neil Devine with 69lb 11oz. Just behind him was Ste Quilliam, pushing hard with 69lb even to secure third place.
Over on Coot Lake, the weights were even stronger, with Ian Hutchinson leading the way with a brilliant 83lb 15oz. Callum Davies put in a great performance for second place with 78lb 6oz, while Ian Gladders completed the top three with 69lb 6oz.
Overall on the day, it was Ian Hutchinson who came out on top making it four wins in a row. He’s proving to be unstoppable this year, consistently putting together top-quality performances and setting the standard for everyone else.
The next match heads to Woodland Lakes, Thirsk, where anglers will fish Middy Moat, Sir Briggs, and Gandalf Moat next weekend. Names to Jack on WhatsApp after he has posted the list later tonight.
